"inner city slums? Do you not know the percentage of kids that play football come from those kinds of places? That football (and basketball) are considered tickets out-of-poverty and hardship because they are based purely on performance (sure, a kid of color can get good grades, go to a good school, and then be passed over for a job because so-and-so's kid plays golf w/the owner's kid).
Next up, you'll be marveling that SAT scores are higher in white suburbs than in those populated by folks of color.
You did say "better citizens," too. If that isn't demeaning and racist, what is? "
