I thought it was a typo on my screen. Kentucky leading UCLA 28-2? When the announcer confirmed the score I figured the worst was over. Now Kentucky would give back some of that lead. But a few minutes later ESPN flashed the halftime score: 41-7. The next score I saw was 73-35. And then it was mercifully over: 83-44. One ESPN commentator’s assessment seemed apt when he quipped, "Kentucky made UCLA look like a high school team." (The game was played on a neutral court.)
These can't be happy times for California sports fans. First, the disappointing college and “professional” football seasons and now this train wreck. ~:)
