Great, except for the statement, "cats are objectively valuable." No. Cats sit around

and purr, occasionally bestirring themselves to go out and kill birds, upsetting the natural balance. Their sole purpose is companionship.
Dogs, otoh, can do "service." Or, more commonly, act as protectors. They also are attracted to humans, enjoying their master's company more than anything else and providing a warm glow to otherwise mundane activities, such as walking or doing chores.
