Before that I'd left the civil service and started a business - based on rare & extensive expertise gained there, but wasn't valued within my department. The business did quite well for a while and then died due to external factors. ? Ask?
I'm in a slough of despond and then Patricia says go back to Uni and FINISH this time!
Became an academic tutor in Systems - running tutorial groups & marking their assignments and exams - in the same subjects I'd finished a semester or two back.
Had a very good time, bloody busy but, doing 2-3 subjects each semester plus tutoring, AND held down a 2nd job as a casual door-greeter at BIG-W (kinda like Wal-Mart?), 'the available parent' to our two boys - who were still in primary school (grade school?). I also became the on-site union rep for the casuals at Big-W.
Juggle, juggle, juggle.
I finished with a Distinction minus average.
Ended up as a change agent in Health IT and electronic billing, TQM, Casemix!? etc.
Travelled for work, a lot.
Warmest
