RE: Life after divorce ? ....

Hang in there brother; after 22 years of marriage ours fell apart as well.

Fortunately our kids were grown and out of the house so no financial burden there. Wife pretty much non-contested the divorce, just wanted out; burned-out I guess.

She had no interest in the house, it was 2009 and the mortgage was upside down anyway; we both ended up losing it.

Found a local lawyer online who had a flat fee of $1,500 including any court time if necessary.

One day out of the blue an aunt phoned me and introduced me to a recruiter for overseas work. Perfect for me since I done overseas contracting before, and this would represent a new start in my life. I took the job and the entire divorce was handled 100% through emails.

6 months later I's a free man.

Six months after the divorce I started going out with a co-worker I had known (but never approached while I was married) from my former job, nothing fancy; just walks in the park, beach, a movie etc.,. two years later I was able to buy another house, we got married and have been together ever since.

I guess one could can say my ex and I parted amicably, I see her every now and then at her job (not intentionally) and she'll phone me whenever our daughter needs money lol.

Every blue Moon or so I'll reminisce about the good times we shared, think about the old house we thought we'd never own and get a bit misty eyed, but like the old saying goes: "there's no sense crying over spilled milk" so I continue moving forward.
