Interesting about switch over to Jazz in the 1990s - that's what I did too, but not until about 1998. And Jazz is about 75% of what I listen to now.
Before that, my favorite 1990s band by far was and still is Cake. Awesome group. And I liked other stuff like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam Nirvana, Smashmouth. Even some of the loud craziness by groups like Limp Bizkit and Lo Fidelity Allstars gave me a kick.
