I live near New Jersey, I'm sure there are some farms out there. I get it for about $9 a pound usually. I noticed the supermarket getting Australian filet mignon, that was $8 a pound. Next thing I know maybe 3 months later $16 a pound for US beef.
Ouch man! I have a small place and my freezer is stocked with frozen pizza and ice. I do freeze hot dogs and bacon though, never tried the thawing it out, that is a good idea with thawing in the fridge, I use the microwave or just put it in the foreman.
If I am there and it is back to $8 or $9 I'll buy a couple of pounds and do what you do. Also very interesting about the ribs, going to look into that. They sell whole racks of that near me, that is a good stuff.
