so I don't have much to compare it with. I enjoy riding it a lot, has lots of gears for going uphill, it handles well, I can go off curbs and over bumps without problems. Heavy tires and suspension allow for that. I wanted something I could beat up a bit without destroying it.
Haven't the guts yet at my age to do anything really radical, or take it extensively off trail.
It is not as "fast" as the skinny tire cross country type bikes, which routinely pass me up, but not by that much.
Your new bike looks like it is made for some speed and distance.
I ride mine all over the Santa Cruz, CA area, so my Cannondale mountain bike is also excellent transportation.
