Inmate Central, where civil and family-friendly discourse about off-audio topics (other than religion and politics) is welcome.

Hey, this topic has been discussed to death.

Can't you learn to use the search engine? You cretin!

Oops sorry, I must have picked up that bad habit over on GENERAL. ;0)

Well, I've read your post about four times and you bring up some interesting points. One thing I really enjoy about the asylum is that it's open to all comers. As you state, our common ground is an enjoyment of music and the myriad ways to create or reproduce it. So in that context we all can inquire, question, expound, prod, poke fun, or whatever else we do and try to make a connection with one another.

In life, there are things that can seperate us from one another --such as regional location, education, race, religion, and income. This asylum is a great equalizer as it is open to anyone with a computer and keyboard and an ability to communicate in English. Now that will exclude a lot of peope in this world, but it INCLUDES people I would have never gotten to know otherwise and have grown richer from due to their insight, humor, experience in audio and in life.

I use the various asylums to achieve a goal mostly. I spent a lot of time on the DIY asylum when I was researching how to upgrade my amp with premium parts. Recently, I've posted and read a lot on the speaker asylum because that's what I'm upgrading now. This Central Asylum isn't so much about the various pieces of audio as it is about the aspects of human relationships we are willing to share with one another. But I must disagree on one minor point. You seem to say we post because we are "looking for friends". I would state that we post our thoughts, experiences and opinions because we want to make a connection with others; and that the posts that resonate and seem to fit help us develop friendships.
