In fact, IMO it's still the best of that series (next year--Star Trek 12: So Old, So Tired).
The second Spider-Man movie was better than the first.
Sequelitis is just proof that Hollywood is bereft of ideas. Nearly every movie fits one of three or four formulas. You have the Revenge Flick, the Buddy Flick, the Fish out of Water Flick, the Meet Cute, Fall for Each Other in the End Chick Flick. An 'atz it.
I'm sure that if The Treasure of Sierra Madre had been made three years ago, Madre II: The Next Generation would be hitting the theaters this week.
