ULURU (aka Ayer Rock) is worth seeing, let alone climbing!
And there's a spare bedroom here - in Canberra the nations planned capital, as offered to BWOOKie and Diane,
mind that it is barely furnished and you would be sleeping on a fold-down double-bed size futon-lounge avec crushed-foam filling!
Down the bottom of our street - on any given day - you can see real wild Eastern Grey Kangaroos, the 2nd biggest species. They're on the way to our bus stop when they're down that bit. NB the mob does move around as they graze and as our soils and grasses are poor, we MAY have to go into the reserve surrounding us to FIND some!
You'd also meet most of Trisha's extended family, all pinko/liberal/ socialists - and eat/meet/greet with them if you make it around a weekend. The fabulous Vickie is worth being in the same vicinity of!
Catch some Aussie teeveee especially our satirists and comedians!
When? big issue for the SE as it is capable of being COLD here in Winter - June through August - making 'extended family' gatherings with sitting down outside under OUR big deck not really practical unless around midday, and a GOOD day!
The area around Canberra has our only serious mountain range, and day walks with pretty good views in reserves, LOTS of GUM trees!!!! some have 'long walk-uphill' climbs in them, and many of which I KNOW! As we're in a walking group.
I'd meet you at the airport, and you chuck in for food and booze. I'm the usual cook, mind! A few tours of Canberra the worlds most spread out city, and environs, and the National Gallery, the War Memorial museum - most of a day - with an Aussie and MIL-history buff all in one! Questacon, the hands on science-museum?
Stay a couple-four days!
Then you get into a hire care and do the trip to Soxie, and he'll show yer around NE NSW! See ?
More money to spend on shopping and souveneirs!
