....is based on being at a summer outing where a bee decided that my glass of beer looked like an inviting place to take a swim. After taking a sip and discovering that there was more than beer in my mouth (and being stung in the hard palate and lower lip by the time I managed to spit the damn thing out), my hostess asked if there was anything she could do. I asked if she had any decent whiskey - she did. It was originally my intent to just hold a little of it in my mouth on the injured areas (Honest!!), but after the first shot, I surrendered the keys. I got a fresh bottle as a gift when I finally graduated from SCSU at the age of 52, with the notation, "For celebrations and bee stings." True story, and while I don't drink much bourbon, I do admit to a liking for Basil Hayden's. It's better than Maker's Mark in my estimation, but then I'm not exactly a connoisseur.
