And I haven't been able to find it!
Does anyone recall me posting an email to them about it?
Well anyways here goes with it!
I actually recited the Gettysburg Address with a young American father, for /to his two young children. The lad had been noisily razzing his little sister and I had hunkered down and spoke with him and got him to stop, cos it was the kinda place where silence just works!
Then the Dad asked me where I was from, and we ended up reading it out aloud, his voice was the first to catch. But we got through it.
After the first coupla lines the whole place went quiet, later a few folks told me they were moved. As a result they know that lots of non-yankees knew about all this, and value it highly!
Most of them kinda recognised my country of origin because of me big wide brimmed (turned down all round) hat!
No, I'm NOT anti-American, never have been, never will be. A (savage/) disappointed critic on occasion!?
"You betcha ARSE, I will be!"
So cop it, like grown up country/citizens, and cut the whingeing, okay!?
