Read Stereophile review of the Meridian 518 from 1994-95 (online) and the graphs *clearly show* that re-dithered CD measured as good as a true 19-bit recording. But re-dithering has improved since then - now it's 20.
This is why the editor of that magazine recently stated that re-dithered CD has "sufficient resolution" compared to a hi-rez file. You cannot deny the facts.......
