Not exactly.
DSD is 1-bit. Because it is 1-bit, there can be no processing or editing that bit further. All DSD DAWs DO convert to PCM at some point if there is an edit or processing. Where and how much of the file becomes PCM at a lower sample rate and bit depth is dependent upon the manufacturer. Pyramix converts the WHOLE file to PCM, even if there is one simple edit/cross fade. Sonoma only converts that one little edit/crossfade, which may only be 5-10ms and at the tale of a wave where there is no amplitude anyway. You would not normally fade on a crest, where resulting pops would be heard.
