I am happy to have the fist inquiry on this post. Here goes. I have an early pair of Moondogs. I am using them to drive the mids. and tweeters of my Spendor S100 speakers I am using Apmasphere M50 OTL's to drive the woofers..(They S100's are tri-wired).I am taking a leap of faith - in assuming that this post is for questions re: Welborne "stuff". If I lept and fell,I will get up. But as always , I will be embarrassed.
Questions:1. Should I be using an electronic crossover?
2. Should I modify the Moondogs so they will not try to play the bass? I hear that others have done this. What is the proper way to do this? Does this work?
3.Do the KR tubes really make a difference? What about VAIC Meshplates?
4.I am using 1m runs of speaker cable. (Amps. are really close to speakers) Moondogs under the Spendors in between the sound Anchor Stands. Atmaspheres are next to and slightly behind stands.
o.k. here is a can of worms... Does the speaker cable/wire make a difference? Any recommendations? (I'm sure that will stir up some kind of discussion and get this post moving)
