There is something special about the truly small triodes. The Moondog 2A3 also sounded different than the 300b.If you want the Laural to sound more dynamic, get some nice Mullard 5AR4 rectifiers, put in some good plastic caps and bypass the power supply caps with some 0.10uf to 0.33uf bypass caps. You will make the Laural sound different, but there is really no way to make it sound like a 45 or 10y.
