Which are similar to the Oris, I can say without hesitation the Fostex do great for the money in the Azuras, and I have seen similar comments by one or two Oris owners. The FE206E's are far better than their cost indicates. However, to maximize the benefits of this type of design, you really need to go to the better Lowthers/AER's to get better high end response. A phase plug and higher magnet strength is needed.
However, these types of front horns are so _magical_ in their sound, that just about everyone that hears them with the Fostex or rummage sale vintage Alnico's goes slack-jawed.
I suggest that you buy the Oris 150's, run FE206E's until your budget can handle some used Lowther/AER's. That's what I did with the Azura's. I've got DX4's in transit at the moment.
Think about it, have you ever seen any used Oris for sale? People that have 'em, like them so much that they rarely get rid of them.
A perfect scenario? No. _Magical_? Yes.
