With a .22uf the low freq. rolloff is about 10 Hz. With a .1uf it is 20Hz.

I've noticed you've been doing some serious tube rolling but if you haven't replaced the .047uf cap yet...you really should before you make any conclusions about the sound of the amps or the sound of a specific brand of tube.

I'm afraid you're missing some bottom-end without the proper cap installed.

The Hovlands are just slightly quicker than the Jensens on things like lead-edge transient information (snare drums, piano attack, etc. are most noticeable).
