Hello all,When I bought my Apollos a year ago, I went for the Jensen coupling caps. I didn't know what the implications of using them were, but I thought since they were more expensive, they must be better. :)
Well, to cut to the chase...
I'm using Coincident Total Eclipse speakers, and wasn't getting the detail I wanted. I popped in some Hovland Musicaps, replacing the Jensen coupling caps.
All I can say is "Wow". I have to say, on my system, the Apollos sound better in just about every way.
I'm saving the Jensens for if I ever get Avant-Garde's or Lowthers. I imaging they'll be quite usefull then.
So the lesson... experiment, and don't assume you'll like something better simply because it cost's more.
Also, if you're not getting the sound you want, start changing the coupling caps. It really made a startling difference.
