Ron -

I just bought either a late 2A3-L5 or an early Moondog. I bought it from Stephen Cord in GA. Steve insists it is the "Moondog" and says he is the original owner and has talked to you about it more than a few times. The only thing identifying it as the Moondog is the brass plate on the amp; the manual, the sticker on the chassis bottom, and everything else says "2A3-L5". The amp was made around 97 or so.

The serial number on the bottom is #00143. Ron, is there any way you remember Steve and this amplifier? Just trying to figure out what in the world I have here.

Been struggling with my system. At times, this thing is magic, but it is so sensitive to wire, electricity, tides, my mood....etc. It has been a mixture of agony and elation, although I think I have mostly fallen somewhere in the middle most of the time. SET nirvana is an endless quest!

Question #2: I have two Audio Note Copper Film paper in oil caps per amp. The first cap between the 6SN7s is .047 at 630v. The second cap is 0.1 at 630v. Is this too high a value in your estimation? I know you call for .22 in the manual.

Thanks for the assistance. Hope you dont mind that I got the used amp; I'll more than likely end up getting more gear from your end VERY soon!
