With the plentiful supply of NOS and used 6sn7's around, I din't think this would really pay off if the cost of the 6sn7's is your only cosideration. By the time you got done with transformers and switches you would probably have $40 or more dollars invested in the conversion.
I did install a 5 volt transformer in my Moondogs to allow use of 300's. Not cost effective, but it does allow experimenting with a differnt sounding output tube. The results were pretty good.
