I used to sell the Full Music line of tubes, but don't anymore, so I can post about them without commercial bias. I haven't tried them in direct comparison myself, because I couldn't afford to. However many of my ex customers have, and I got feedback from them. Most, but not all, I'd say at least 75%, preferred the meshies over the Western Electrics. The consensus seemed to be that, the meshies had more air on top, better bass, and a more "liquid" mid range (whatever that means). The Western Electrics had warmer/lusher mids, some thought too warm. I think as always, that it is a matter of taste and system synergy. Perhaps this unscientific survey may help you in determining what would be best for you. If your system is a bit on the revealing side, the Western Electrics may be the way to go, if you could use a little more resolving power and bass, then the meshies might be good. I can tell you I'm a very happy Laurel owner, and I use the meshies.
