The stock control is OK. You could later upgrade it to an Alps or Noble type control. The next step up from there would be either the stereo series stepped attenuator or the dual mono ladder attenuators. As you go up in quality you obtain a tiny bit more resolution with each level.
The nice thing about the stepped attenuators is that you obtain very accurate channel-to-channel tracking due the 1% tolerance resistors used. And the nice thing about the ladder attenuators is you get a built-in balance control between the channels.
Get the basic unit and add the upgrades as you can afford it.
No upcoming sales planned at this time unless I get hardup for money later on this Summer. But so far, sales are unusually good for this time of year.
