Hi Ron...I've been kicking around the idea of trying your ultrapath-bp preamp. I've read thru the archives and know that you have said not to wait to buy the ultimate version...that the basic does just fine...also, that the basic is close to what you have used during your trial period...that is close...but not exact. You stated you were using the upgraded attenuator (which one) and how do you feel the upgraded stepped attenuator compares with the stock Alpha stereo volume control. I know there will be improvements (over stock) but how is the stock unit? I just don't have the extra money to throw into any upgrades right now. Do you suspect the Ultrapath pre's will go "on sale" again? When you first introduced them I was still building my speakers...so I wasn't looking to buy any other projects until they were done. However, I sure wish I would have looked closer while you were at Lima! I'm kinda kicking myself right now >:( (by the way...nice room you had!
