The link below is to a page giving comparitive (to copper) conductivity figures. I may be misinterpreting the data but to my amateur eye both tin and lead look like pretty poor conductors. I'd guess that adding a small percentage of silver doesn't make a whale of a lot of difference. Solder isn't primarily designed to be a great conductor, but to melt at low temperatures and flow into a joint, making a secure and airtight mechanical connection.

Which all goes to reinforce the advice that a good mechanical crimp is essential - solder is just a means to "set" the connection in place and prevent oxidisation at the joint, and it shouldn't be relied on for the electrical connection per se.
