The La Scallas are a good bass option, but I don't think they extend much deeper than the Medallions. So going with the Oris/La Scalas only addresses one of the benefits IMO. It's an awesome combination, I just want a little deeper bass to cover all types of music.
Bert is currently working on his Reference system using the new BD15 which starts out with a 15" bass reflex cabinet that can be upgraded to horn loaded/reflex cabinet with the addition of a shortened 150 horn. This design should provide useable bass down to 30Hz.
I'm also working on a hybrid bass cabinet design that should provide extension down to 30Hz using either a 12 or 15" driver. I cut wood for the prototype last weekend.
