By 'La Scalas' you mean just the bass bin (aka 'doghouse') right? The La Scalas as a system are pretty good, too...and the thought of cutting off the top part of the cabinets (of the La Scalas)makes me wince just a bit! But the possibility of one day using them as part of an Oris system was one of the reason I bought them, and the price just couldn't be beat. Plus they were just down the road from me, which saved a few hundred $$$ in shipping.The Medallions are just way too dang good to not use, though, and I would absolutly use them in the second system -- which is probably actually on more than the one in our listening room...but mostly for background music. I would use the PM2As in the Oris, and maybe put a DX2 in the Medallion.
I know the Oris are said to have a bit of a narrow listening area, but that's how I listen when I really listen -- and Marie could care less!
