Your correct about the PS oils. I discovered this, and only use oils in my PS. Even then, I had to tune it. The cheap oil cans were too muffled, adding a Jensen oil voiced it pretty well. Also, for tone I use small value oil caps, 3-4 uF. But to get it filtered correctly, I use a lot of chokes. Which have other effects ..
Of course, my amp takes up 4 large chassis! More than what most people would tolerate. And all for a crummy little 1W SET amp.
