Thanks, I agree the 15K value is good. I have heard this passive for a long time with several good amps, and I am sure there is no reduction in dynamics. What some hear as the more dynamic or powerful sound of tube preamps in really just a coloration of the sound by the tube preamp. In other words, most have alot of bloom, body, and a small midbass rise. Also, alot of people have not heard a passive set up correctly.
I think my problem is that, the Paraglow 2A3's, "not WL", does not have alot of power to spare for dynamics, and therefore could use the help of a slightly full bodied powerful sounding preamp. I have tried my $2200 Vac Vintage preamp, but it sounds worse than the little Foreplay, or the passive. BTW, my Welborn Labs passive is very dynamic, with almost all amps I have used it with, when set up perfectly. IMHO, passives are the only way to really hear what your power amp sounds like. That said, I still would like to get another beatiful sounding, but neutral tube preamp, but I think I'm keeping the passive. Regards, Greg R.
