A few of you might have seen my ramblings over in SET Asylum... I apologize for the repetition.

What is the exact difference between the earlier Welborne Labs 2A3 L5 Monoblocks and the Welborne Labs 2A3 Moondog? I know the 2A3 L5 have the Magnequest transformers but besides that, what are the differences here (know the early Moondog had the MagneQuests as well).

Are there any other circuit or parts differences, barring the obvious ability to add modify the parts selection in both?

I am looking at a pair of Welborne Labs 2A3 L5 Monoblocks with MagneQuests, Caddock resistors, Jensen Oils, Cardas jacks. 2A3s are Chinese with NOS 6SN7 and Mullard GZ-37 rectifiers. Second owner selling. He's asking 1300. This sound over-the-top for a home built unit? Still unsure of the Moondog difference.

Any and all advice/observations would be appreciated since I have not heard a SET amp of any kind in six years and only a 300B! Of course, I love the damn things...
