either 30wpc or 100wpc power amps. I have recently seen advertised the 100w version for £250 (UK). How
would it sound against a new £250 amp?
I bought a set of these a couple of months ago Shane...but did not respond earlier as I had been waiting until now for delivery. I paid a little more than the price you mentioned but as they came from a dealer and they were very expensive when released out here* I didn't quibble.I had been looking for a set of these for about 2 years- rembering a very favourable review when they first came out in a magazine that also reviewd the luxman MB3045s. (I also want some of those if anyone has some!) The review went something like: "I haven't heard a SS amp with this much power to equal it"!!! This was 1977 remember though.
Anyway the set I got sounds VERY nice through my JR149s driven by a studer CD player, and none of the sliders on the pre-amp are noisy- a pleasant surprise! Best of all they are the same height as the JR149s, and the black fluted sides match the JRs too, a match made in heaven! Shame this is just my "office" system and no one else gets to see it.....

*I seem to recall they were A$1199 at a time when a linn LP12 was A$440 and luxman MB3045s were A$1600/pair. (A$1 = US$1.40 back then, too!)
