KLH 17's like a lower damping factor, so the capacitively coupled amplifiers in the 2230 will do very well. I tried this combo years ago and it was very nice. If the bass is a little shy, you can add a 1/2 ohm resistor in series, or a touch of bass boost. I used the set up in a 12 x 21 room that opened into another room of equal size through a very large archway, so the net effective volume was quite large. It gave good volume. Enough so it was impossible to hold a conversation without shouting.Jerry
