I would like to view more vintage gear quality upgrade posts. Or, as I mentioned last week, how about Tuner 'tube rolling'- no replies (interesting). The Scott 350 series are just great for tube swapping. The 6BS8 is great for the super tube 6ES8. This tube can take over a volt input at the grid and still operate linear, plus sensitive as the better quality MOS-FETs. The 12AU7, 12AX7 & 12AT7 family of tubes can be replaced with higher quality 5814, 6201, 8189, 5751, etc. If I buy a tube based tuner, like the tube based amplifier, I want maximum performance. I do understand many want 'exact as shipped from the factory' vintage gear for a reference.
