Only factory wired units had a label with s/n on the chassis. The easiest way to determine the age of any ST-70 is to remove bottom plate and look at bias pots. Every ST-70 that I have seen has pots made by CTS, and the first of two sets of numbers stamped on these bias pots has 7 digits, the 4th and 5th digits being the year of manufacture, ie, 1376018 was made in 1960.Sometimes the power transformer will have a date stamped on it where you can see it. It will be very small white lettering, such as T5 63. Hope this helps.
Best regards,
Mike
