an uncaring shipping co just ruined my sherwood 7700 rec.

sent to it`s destination in pristine cond. minus cover , arrived open 2 -7868`s smashed ,preamp tubes pulled out and just laying inside unit, can capacitors bases broken ,1- white knob missing, maybe this unit being solid copper chassis, really set off the detectors i don`t know but only insured for 100 buck`s thinking anything insured would be treated proper, but the last and worst thing broken was the end cap for the faceplate, there is one on each side, two screws hold it too the actuall faceplate while two screws hold the faceplate to the chassis, they are pot metal and i think nickel plated, it has a cracked all the way through, question is can it be welded, braized, i know years ago nothing could be done., any new technology`s out there?.......thanks ,,,,,,zman
