some more details:
- adjusting the "hum balance" control pot don't change the grid voltage much (it can move between -12v and -15v)
- the two 12 Ohm /1W resistors that connect to pin 3 (are these the cathode bias resistors?) measure (in the circuit) 15 Ohms and 13Ohms.
