I have a Scott 299b and feel the sound of the Dynaco was much more laid back and easier to listen to. I find the Scott to be more fatiguing after a while. So I guess it's all a matter of taste. Of course you know I'm right though ;-)You know if you want a mellower sounding system do try the Marantz 2230. It's one smooth sounding easy to listen to receiver. And looks as cool as it sounds. But again it's a receiver and I know you are into seperates.
