My favorite receivers from Marantz sound wise, and these are only the ones I've personally owned, are as follows.Marantz 18(could be expensive and make sure you get a good one), 2230, 2226b, 2270 (almost identical to the 2230 but I keep the 2230 so take that for what it's worth), 1200 integrated, 1060 integrated, 2245.
You really can't go wrong with any of them. But DO make sure you ask questions and get one that is working and has had NO work done to it other than from some of the one line "vintage dealers". If you go through ebay beware. Ebay has become a dumping ground for half working systems lately
