I have never heard of a TX-7540. The 2500 was not part of a 25xx series it was part of a 1500, 2500, 4500, 6500 series nad later there was a MkII series with the same numbers and an 8500. In the 80's and 90's they had 3 digit model numbers 850, 860, 870, 806, etc. The latest stereo models are 4 digit, TX-8211 and 8511.Jerry
