Yes, none other than. :-) The BeamBox looks like a fun toy to play
with, even if it does have that el-cheapo looking woodgrain contact
paper on it. Like the KLH 51 receiver and the three ferrite head
Kenwood KX-1030 (mechanical controls, alas), it was priced
at US$20. Did I overpay for it? It seemed a little on the expensive
side, but I figured that the other two items were a bargain, as was
the Hafler DH-160 equalizer, so I still bought it.

As to the KLH model 51, am I correct in thinking that this is a
lesser quality receiver, aside from power-rating, than my old
Sherwood S-7900A? ...or am I mistaken?

That's why I wanted it. :-) Lousy reception in the basement.
