RE: Brown box

I have no experience with the brown box but to put another thought in your head....
I acquired an RCA ISOTAP wp-26a back when increased line voltages were becoming the quibble of the day. On older unrestored equipment it probably saved me a few exploding caps. On new or restored gear it functions best as an isolation transformer on playback gear and preamps, which differentiates it from the Brown Box. I think I paid $50 way back when. They still come up in differing models Wp-25, 26, 27 on the bay.
