RE: How did the Mac MC60 rate in the vintage big picture

The Peeless A100A can certainly compete with the MC60 when it comes to sound quality. The Peerless A100A uses Peerless transformers, naturally, their antecedents are Altec and Western Electric designs. The tube lineup is all triodes and the circuit topology is advanced in the use of choke loaded cathode followers with a sliding bias that allows about 15W out of a pair of 6A5G triodes.
