RE: Are tubes more "perky" than transistors

Tubes overload/clip differently than SS does. Perhaps that's what you are observing.

BTW, the instantaneous power needed to accurately reproduce the "snip" of scissors is way beyond the capability of home audio amps. So, even a HIGH power HIFI amp can be overtaxed, under certain conditions.
