RE: Oh no another speaker wire question

Aluminum is a good conductor of electricity. For a given resistivity, you need larger diameter wire than copper. Remember, long distance power transport is via steel cored (for strength) aluminum cabling.

The big issue with aluminum wiring is where it's connected up to other items. Check out the not so pleasant history of aluminum house wiring.
