RE: How to restore the black case of an HK 730

How bad is the vinyl on the case? I would get aggressive with the cleaning. More than soap and water, some rough cleaner, Ajax or the like. I would also try some car cleaning chemicals if there are stains and such. Then a nice final clean with soap and water. Let dry and if it still is not monochromatic, it would need a shot of nice quick dry, satin black paint, Krylon is my go to. If you are going to store stuff on it, get a paint that sticks to plastic, if not the standard paint should work.

If it is monochromatic when done and just dull, any of a hundred car chemicals used to make black trim look good is the answer. Whether that be Armor-All, back to black, black again etc.
