Since we last talked I built Bob Latino's VTA ST-70. It is a killer!!! Nothing like the original 70. Very crisp clean and no not bright. Just right in every way.

Thanks for the lucid answer about grounds.

But what is the difference of adding attenuation on the cable vs having a variable source output. Some devices have their own volume pot??

My listening area got downgraded to "bedroom" system status. Moved and downsized the house. Sold the castle and moved to Arizona.

I have to get setup sometime in August and see how the whole system plays out. Now my stereos will be close to me. As opposed to the last house where they were 10-12 feet away. I may not even need a remote. The ONLY good thing about moving to a smaller room.
