Zenith Moderne Z565 - Loud, buzzy amp

I know this isn't a hi-fi stereo, but I'm in love with it. I got it off of eBay non-functional. I serviced it, replaced some parts, got it working beautifully. The only tiny problem is that it sounds bad.

With the volume all the way down, it's still relatively loud.
When I connect headphones they're uncomfortably loud. At times, usually while turning the dials, there is a deep bass electrical buzz. Anyone have a diagnosis? I have a feeling the capacitors are hard to find, and I know next to nothing about amplifier electrical.

It's not unusable. For just playing a record at a moderate volume, it's perfectly fine. But it's muddy. I'd really like to punch it up a little.
