Sonically speaking - Marantz 2230 vs Harman kardon 430

Purely on music sound quality which of these receivers has the better over all sound quality.

I always remember the 2230 as very full but on the darkish side. A softer top end.

The HK 430 I seem to remember it being OK. Not exciting or colored. But just OK.

Is my memory of these two receivers still correct?
