You're correct. There is nothing common between the R II and R/4 other than type of bass loading and that both are 3 ways.

And the Bass loading is not a transmission line. Bud called it a line tunnel and it really is a ported speaker with the port completely stuffed with foam. The idea actually was based on a speaker by a British company called Ferrograph. It is essentially the same loading as the old Dynaco A25 and as the variovent used by a few Danish companies years ago.
